Shanice is a first-generation college student from Mount Vernon, NY. She obtained her associate degree in business administration and management from Bronx Community College and is currently majoring in Health Services Administration. This is her second semester, and she feels a sense of community here at SPS. Shanice is always looking for a way to serve her community. She does this is by serving as Young Professionals of Mount Vernon's Community Chair. She looks to utilize her education to bring educational and professional opportunities to the youth in her city. Some of her hobbies include making hair and body oils, and baking cookies, and every summer you can catch her camping with her friends.
"Being a full-time working parent and student is not easy, but it is doable. I understand what it is like to have to juggle multiple tasks. Within this academic year, I have joined the board of the Health Services Administration Organization, Black Student Union, and Human Relations and Sociology Club. I am also a part of a few other clubs at SPS. Being on the board of these clubs has increased my confidence and taught me what it takes to be a leader. I believe that my dedication to serving the student body makes me a great candidate for Student Association. My goal as a member is to advocate for the student body."
