CUNY SPS Counseling Services
The CUNY School of Professional Studies (CUNY SPS) aims to provide students with the support they need to achieve their goals. The CUNY SPS Office of Counseling provides confidential and free mental health services to all enrolled students.
New York Prescription Saver
All New York residents are eligible to get pharmacy discounts through the NYRX program. The program may be used to provide savings on prescriptions not covered by your health insurance or Medicare Part D. The program may also be used instead of your insurance coverage when it offers greater savings than your copay. The savings vary, but can be as much as 80%. Ryan Health is a community health center with locations throughout Manhattan. They provide medical, dental, gynecological, mental health and optometry, among many other medical specializations. They also provide medical services for a sliding fee based on your income level for patients without health insurance. Additionally, all prescriptions are provided for $10 from their pharmacy for patients without prescription drug coverage.
The Institute for Family Health

This is a group of clinics in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx and the Mid-Hudson Valley. See the website for details. Each clinic has a team of social workers who can help you get health insurance if you are uninsured. Additionally, if you are uninsured, the fee is "sliding scale" based on your income.
Callen-Lorde Community Health Center

A health center specializing in health issues for New York's LGBTQ population, yet accepting of all patients, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Callen-Lorde is a respectful environment, staffed with excellent physicians, gynecologists, social workers and even a dentist. The clinic is very clean, efficient, and professional. If you earn less than $21,660/year, you will qualify for a sliding-scale fee. They also have an agreement with a CVS in Chelsea where you can receive a discount on prescriptions if you are paying out of pocket when the prescription was written by Callen-Lorde. Sometimes, they can take a same-day appointment. They can also help you find an LGBTQ friendly provider in New York City.
