Admission Requirements

CUNY SPS is designed for adult learners, meaning that applicants should have a minimum of 15 earned credits taken at a previous, regionally accredited institution. A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or better is required for transfer admission to CUNY SPS.

We also offer Jump Start, a performance-based application process for degree-seekers, that is not dependent on the GPA. Jump Start allows students to create a portfolio that demonstrates the college-level skills and knowledge they’ve developed inside or outside of a college classroom in areas such as leadership, research, technical skills, professional writing, and languages.

The admissions process includes the submission of an Application, Transcript(s) from any and all colleges attended, and a Personal Statement of 250 or more words (requirements vary for Nursing program).
