James Casey, RAC Adjunct Associate Professor and Academic Community Leader, recently co-presented a webinar entitled, "International Research Collaborations: Revisiting Challenges, Progress, and Emerging Opportunities," hosted by the Government-University-Industry-Philanthropy Research Roundtable at The National Academies. This is a follow-up to the original GUIRR International Research Collaborations project (2008-18), in which Casey was a co-Chair.

Assistant Professor and Academic Director of Communication and Media Dr. Elizabeth Alsop recently published the book "Elaine May," which explores the eponymous filmmaker's body of work. Dr. Alsop will discuss the book at an upcoming Public Programs event on February 19th at The Graduate Center.

Two CUNY BS Information Science students, Dwight Allison and Vahimir (Vamir) Emile, were finalists in the CIE Innovation Sprint Competition, December 5–9, 2024, earning cash prizes. The competition, sponsored by Blackstone LaunchPad in partnership with L’Oréal and Deloitte, enabled students in the CUNY Inclusive Economy Initiative to develop their innovation and entrepreneurial skills, gain valuable experience solving real-world business challenges, and win cash prizes.

CUNY SPS alum and "50 under 50" inductee Kristen Lemma (Advanced Certificate Research Administration ’21), who now works as a senior grants specialist at NYU Langone Health, shares her takeaways about receiving this honor.

CUNY SPS Academic Director Dr. Arthur O’Connor, who heads the MS in Data Science and BS in Information Systems degree programs, discussed the potential risks and rewards to businesses utilizing Generative AI with CEO-Magazine in the article "Bridging the Gap: Generative AI and Organizational Readiness." Drawing on his vast experience in corporate IT management, Dr. O'Connor warns that AI programs such as ChatGPT cannot replace critical thinking. He also points out AI's tremendous efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
