CUNY School of Professional Studies’ tuition is among the lowest in the nation, and CUNY SPS means to assist working adults in finishing or transitioning into a bachelor’s degree program, advance at work or change careers.
Allison Cooke is a multi-hyphenate. She is a student (earning a Master’s degree in Youth Studies at the CUNY School of Professional Studies, an advocate for youth (self-described “youth enthusiast”), a mother, a storyteller, and a policy and program analyst for the Department of Transportation. And she's only getting started. Gothamist spoke with Allison to find out more about her CUNY SPS experience and how she got to where she is today.
One of the strengths of CUNY SPS is the breadth of the online degree programs offered to students. When Holly Osborne, an alumna now living in the Bay Area, discovered the online MS in Research Administration and Compliance program, she knew it was the right fit for her. As Gothamist learned when speaking with Holly, the diverse classes and student population have continued to engage her throughout her CUNY experience.
CUNY SPS was awarded the Adult Learner Impact Award by the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) at its annual conference last November. A CAEL executive notes this was one of the major highlights of the conference.
