Jacqueline Leber is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Disability Studies program at the CUNY School of Professional Studies. Dr. Leber began her career in high school as a peer tutor at York Preparatory School and took a similar role as a student intern in the office of disability support as an undergraduate at Leigh University. These early experiences blossomed into a lifetime commitment to students and a focus on helping students both understand and feel comfortable with how they learn. Dr. Leber continued her studies in education at Columbia University Teachers College, where she received a Master’s and Doctorate. Dr. Leber’s research has focused on the experiences and perceptions of students with learning disability labels throughout their academic careers and across academic settings. Dr. Leber’s professional and academic experiences include general and special education instruction; instruction at institutions of higher education; administration; and course development in middle, secondary, and post-secondary settings. She has also conducted inventive research studies and led presentations at professional conferences. Dr. Leber also enjoy helping families make decisions regarding educational placements and academic goals.
