Dr. Anne Marie Simmons PhD, RN is an Associate Professor at the CUNY School of Professional Studies. Dr. Simmons received her PhD in Nursing from the CUNY Graduate Center, MS in Nursing Administration from College of New Rochelle and BS in Nursing from Pace University. Prior to joining CUNY SPS, she was faculty and Director of the RN-BS Completion Program at Concordia College-NY. Prior to her academic role, her experience included work in nursing administration in both the hospital and the community settings. Her research includes frontline nurse manager workforce issues and engagement.

At Concordia, she led the initiative for the Nursing Honor Society to become a newly chartered chapter of Sigma Theta Tau Sigma Theta Tau International. Presently, she is the co-investigator with fellow faculty from Lehman College of an international study examining teaching strategies to enhance pre-licensure nurses’ decision making.
