Emergency situations can include:
In the above situations, and any other where you believe your own or someone else’s safety is at risk, call 911 (in the United States). Emergency medical personnel are equipped to address mental, as well as physical, health emergencies.
International Emergency Contact Numbers
Please note that these numbers can change without notice. If you are outside of the US, check with local sources to confirm an emergency contact number for your area.
A crisis is a situation that requires prompt attention but does not immediately threaten life or physical safety. There are many different kinds of crisis assistance you can pursue, depending on your situation and location.
If you are not sure which service to contact, just choose any that is answering calls/texts/chats at the moment you are searching. Crisis lines have many purposes, from suicide response to natural disaster response, and responders are trained to address many types of crises. Once you speak with a responder, they can help connect you to the right people. It’s always OK to contact a crisis service, for any reason.
