Youthful Impact, Careerwise, NPower, PerScholas, Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow, and The Knowledge House have partnered with CUNY School of Professional Studies to provide graduates and alumni of their rigorous, in-demand IT training programs with up to 19 free credits toward a fully online bachelor’s degree in Information Science at CUNY SPS. NPower
NPower creates pathways to economic prosperity by launching digital careers for military veterans and young adults from underserved communities. NPower envisions a future where our domestic technology workforce is diverse, and clear pathways exist for all people regardless of ethnicity, gender, or socio-economic background to succeed in our digital economy.
Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow
Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow exists to break the cycle of poverty and inequity through education, job training, and employment. OBT’s programs serve as a bridge to economic opportunity for youth, individuals, and families in underserved communities. OBT emphasizes the principles of accountability, confidence, and professionalism to prepare participants for the workforce while developing personal and professional skills.
Per Scholas
Per Scholas provides technology skills training and access to employer networks to individuals often excluded from tech careers. Per Scholas envisions a technology workforce as diverse as the customers it serves. For over 25 years, thousands of graduates have launched successful careers in tech to date through Per Scholas' no-cost technical training. Their mission is to advance economic equity through rigorous training for tech careers, and to connect skilled talent to leading businesses.
The Knowledge House
The Knowledge House helps young people access digital skills training, postsecondary education, and career opportunities through innovative programs that prepare graduates for careers in the technology industry: Data Science with Python, Web Development & Design, Cyber Security, and Usability Testing & User Experience Design. Their mission is to empower and sustain a talent pipeline of technologists, entrepreneurs, and digital leaders, who will uplift their communities out of poverty.
CareerWise
CareerWise New York's mission is to create opportunities for youth and businesses across NYC by developing and supporting an innovative, sustainable youth apprenticeship system. Through this business-led, student-centered model, CareerWise New York brings together public and private stakeholders to ensure students have access to the skills and knowledge they need for financial and academic success, and that businesses have access to highly-trained talent.
Youthful Impact
Youthful Impact prepares youth for the future of work. It is an entrepreneurial mindset platform that builds employability skills using culturally responsive and inclusive content. The program's design helps youth become advocates for what is needed, develop business knowledge and digital skills, expand financial literacy, and launch impact projects and ventures that Impact their community. In summary, they will gain life and work skills to thrive.
