The CUNY School of Professional Studies offers a portfolio of online degree and advanced certificate programs in nursing in order to help fill the growing void within the healthcare system. Serving as the first fully online nursing degrees in the CUNY system, our programs help nurses advance within their careers while continuing their education in a timely, flexible, and affordable way.

RN to BS

RN to BS in Nursing (120 credits)

Students in this program:

  • Build on knowledge gained at the associate’s degree level of nursing through the exploration of issues related to today’s changing healthcare environment

  • Adapt and teach education strategies for diverse learners
  • Develop clinical classroom evaluation strategies
  • Create curricula focused on the changing healthcare system

  • Are qualified to serves as nurse educators in a variety of setting upon graduation

Nursing Informatics

RN to BS-MS in Nursing Informatics (Accelerated Program 150 Credits)

 Students in these programs:

  • Use data to synthesize knowledge, inform decision support, and manage outcomes
  • Provide oversight in the integration of technologies to advance health results
  • Help shape health policies and standards at the state, national, and organizational levels
  • Conduct informatics research that impacts both caregivers and consumers
  • Are qualified to serve as clinical informatics nurses and informatics nurse specialists upon graduation

Nursing Organizational Leadership

Advanced Certificate in Nursing Organizational Leadership (18 Credits)

Students in these programs:

  • Promote innovative change and quality outcomes
  • Focus on aspects of leadership, management, innovation, and quality care in nursing
  • Will contribute to the health, education, and social structure of communities by assuming leadership positions
  • Build collaborative interprofessional healthcare teams to coordinate care
  • Employ advocacy strategies to influence policy across the healthcare spectrum
  • Are qualified to serve as directors of nursing, nursing managers, and wellness program directors upon graduation

*Applicants who do not currently hold an RN license may apply to the program in the last semester of their pre-licensure program in anticipation of licensure. Unlicensed students who meet the eligibility criteria will be admitted on a case by case basis and will be required to obtain their RN license before beginning their second term in the program.
