CUNY SPS Introduces Bachelor of Professional Studies in Applied Management and Entrepreneurship Degree Program
Unique Online Program Offers Pathway for Associate’s Degree Holders to Earn a Bachelor’s
Following approval by the New York State Educational Department, the CUNY School of Professional Studies (CUNY SPS) will offer a Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) in Applied Management and Entrepreneurship starting Fall 2022.
The new online program, the first Bachelor of Professional Studies to be offered at CUNY SPS, was developed so community college graduates with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree could seamlessly transfer their credits towards a bachelor’s focused in management and entrepreneurship.
“More than ever before, we can see that business education and training open doors to a wide range of professional opportunities. Our groundbreaking new BPS in Applied Management and Entrepreneurship will help AAS holders from CUNY schools and beyond to earn their bachelor’s while enhancing their existing business knowledge and skills,” said Dr. Edwin Knox, academic director of the CUNY SPS online business programs. “With this degree, graduates can apply what they’ve learned to help them advance their career prospects, move up in managerial or supervisory positions, or start businesses of their own.”
The BPS in Applied Management and Entrepreneurship is a 120-credit program designed to equip students with the business acumen to complement the technical skills and knowledge obtained from their AAS Degree and professional experiences.
CUNY SPS specifically created this program to give community college graduates with an AAS Degree the opportunity to transfer and apply all of their technical/professional credits towards a baccalaureate degree. Unlike most other schools, the BPS program at CUNY SPS will fully accept all credits acquired by AAS holders, offering a fast track to a bachelor’s in order to save them time and money.
Graduates of the BPS in Applied Management and Entrepreneurship will add to their expertise in general business knowledge, analytical and technological skills, ethics and social responsibility, global perspective, communication, leadership and teamwork, and the entrepreneurial mindset.
The BPS in Applied Management and Entrepreneurship will also allow AAS degree holders in career preparatory fields such as accounting, graphic design, marketing, computer information systems and network technologies, hospitality management, and other vocational or technical programs to acquire skills, knowledge, and credential needed to progress in their current career or open their own business.
Similar to other CUNY SPS programs, the BPS in Applied Management and Entrepreneurship will be offered fully online, allowing students the flexibility to take classes and complete coursework on a schedule of their choosing. Students from outside of New York State may also take advantage of the School’s affordable in-state tuition, which is offered to all students regardless of their residency.
