Mazette H. Edwards is a Sr. Director of Revenue Cycle at Northwell Health.  Ms. Edwards served as an Adjunct Professor at The City University of New York.  She holds a master’s degree in Community Health Education from Brooklyn College. Ms. Edwards served on the AHA Coding Clinic Advisory Board from 2014-2016; currently a member of the CDIP Exam Development Committee. In 1992, she began medical coding at The Brooklyn Hospital Center and eventually took a supervisory position at Interfaith Medical Center, where she managed the coding unit for the Hospital.  She is truly a student of the Industry and an active member of AHIMA, NYHIMA, and HIMANYC.

Ms. Edwards has recently become one of a select few to have successfully completed the AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS program and is now a recognized AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer.  In December 2011, she received her AHIMA CDI certification and is now a Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP).  Ms. Edwards is also actively involved in a research project on HIV/AIDS in adults who are fifty years and older, which she hopes to publish in the near future.
