Liz Rubel is currently in her second semester at CUNY SPS getting a Master’s degree in Museum Studies. She graduated from SUNY New Paltz in 2012 with a BA in Sociology/Human Services and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. In her four years at SUNY New Paltz, she sat on many committees and was active in leadership roles in many clubs. Liz was a long time member of the Feminist Collective, the Queer Action Coalition, Take Back the Night, the Student/Police Concerns Committee, Student Association Productions Concert Board, amongst others. Since coming back to college after a 7-year hiatus, she is excited to have this opportunity again by joining the Abilities and Resources Committee at SPS. She was not expecting to be involved in campus life when she was accepted to an online Master’s program in New York City, while also working a gig life; however it has been a meaningful and deepening experience for her.

Liz currently work for an arts organization called the Creative Center, where she teach arts and jewelry workshops to people living with cancer and chronic illness. She is an Artist in Residence at NYU Perlmutter Center and Woodhull Hospital, where she works with patients while they receive their chemo infusions. She also works at The Grolier Club, which is a private club and public museum for rare book collectors. Liz does jewelry production and works at holiday markets for local designers in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. Liz is always on the run doing something!
