The MS in Strategic Nonprofit Management at the CUNY School of Professional Studies is a fully online master’s degree designed for professionals committed to advancing social impact.

Delivered in a flexible 7-week course format, the program allows working adults to complete their degree on their own schedule—balancing professional responsibilities with graduate study. Admissions Criteria

To apply for the online MS in Strategic Nonprofit Management program, applicants must:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Submit a personal statement describing professional goals and interest in strategic nonprofit management.
  • Provide a résumé or CV highlighting relevant experience.
  • Include a letter of recommendation which speaks to academic and professional abilities.
  • Submit official transcripts from all institutions attended, both undergraduate and graduate.
  • Participate in an interview, if requested.

Relevant professional experience relevant to graduate study is strongly preferred.

Applicants not meeting the MS in Strategic Nonprofit Management admissions criteria will be denied admission but may be offered admission to the Advanced Certificate in Nonprofit Management* - MS in Strategic Nonprofit Management Bridge Program. 

Upon successful completion of all four Advanced Certificate in Management courses with a grade of "B" or higher in each course, students will again be reviewed for admission to the MS program. Upon admission to the MS program, all 4 of the Advanced Certificate in Nonprofit Management courses will automatically transfer over for credit to the MS in Strategic Nonprofit Management.
