Chief Student Experience Officer
Vynessa is the Chief Student Experience Officer and Associate Dean at CUNY School of Professional Studies, having recently transitioned into this leadership role in January 2026. Previously, she served as Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at Columbia University School of Professional Studies for five years, where she developed innovative programming and managed large-scale operations of student-facing services. She is completing her PhD in Educational Psychology at CUNY Graduate Center and holds a Master of Science in Higher Education from The Pennsylvania State University. She teaches courses in the Psychology and Educational Foundations & Counseling Programs departments at Hunter College.
Vynessa's commitment to educational equity spans her entire career, from her early work as an EOP advisor to her leadership roles with the Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA) and the East Harlem Tutorial Program. She has extensive experience in higher education administration and student affairs, with her academic work focusing on academic emotions in online learning environments.
