Nicole Mahoney, Ph.D.: Dr. Mahoney is a Doctoral Lecturer and Faculty Coordinator for the CUNY SPS Museum Studies program. She is an American historian and museum professional with more than twenty years of experience in the field of public history. Dr. Mahoney previously worked as Public Historian at the Institute for Thomas Paine Studies at Iona University, where she taught courses in public history, digital humanities, and the Age of Revolutions. She also worked at the New York Historical, the Hagley Museum and Library, the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, and the National Constitution Center. Dr. Mahoney earned her Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she focused on early American history, the history of women and gender, and social and cultural history.
