Join the the MA in Applied Theatre Program, School of Professional Studies City University of New York for the 6th Annual Applied Theatre and Racial Justice Conference.

Given that the historic 2020 election in the United States will happen days before the conference, conference participants will prepare for, participate in, grapple with, and engage the world that emerges immediately after the election. The conference will encourage learning across generations, celebrate communities targeted by violence, imagine what it means to thrive in the midst of struggle, combat despair or take action in the midst of it, and equip us as educators to live at the center of public life and social change, particularly but not exclusively in the context of COVID-19.

The conference curation team welcomes conversations, presentations or sharing’s that encourage learning across generations, celebrate communities targeted by violence, imagine what it means to thrive in the midst of struggle, combat despair or take action in the midst of it, and equip us as educators to live at the center of public life and social change, particularly but not exclusively in the context of COVID-19.

We invite you to share your practice as it relates to building and cultivating racial equity and plurality, or resisting, challenging, or disrupting whiteness and white supremacy. Join us for a day of sharing resources and critical discussion.

Session zoom links will be posted closer to the date of the conference.
