Making the move from college student to working professional is challenging enough, but the transition can be even more daunting when you have a disability. Recent government regulations have created increased efforts by employers, especially federal contractors, to actively recruit students with disabilities into both internship and employment opportunities. Noted disability employment expert Wendy Strobel Gower will lead an interactive discussion on the impact of the new regulations and introduce strategies that students with disabilities might use to take advantage of the efforts to build inclusive workforces. The conversation will also explore the rights and responsibilities of students who are working with a disability.

Wendy Strobel Gower is the Program Director, Disability Inclusion and Accommodation, at the K. Lisa Yang and Hock E. Tan Institute on Employment and Disability; Project Director at the Northeast ADA Center; and Co-Project Director, EARN at The New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Cornell University.

This event, part of our ongoing NDEAM 2019 programming, is co-sponsored by the Office of Student Services, the Disability Studies Program, and the Accessibility and Inclusion Committee.
