CUNY SPS 2021 ePortfolio Showcase Winners Announced

2021 ePortfolio Showcase collage

The CUNY School of Professional Studies (CUNY SPS) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2021 ePortfolio Student Showcase.

Each year, students across 14 academic programs at CUNY SPS develop an ePortfolio that demonstrates the skills and knowledge learned in their courses and reflects on their academic journey at CUNY SPS. ePortfolio has been a platform that allows students to create a digital identity, use multimodal composition to create purposeful narratives, and share their academic and personal experiences with their peers. This year, our students have created remarkable ePortfolios that not only demonstrated a skillset but also showed their dedication and resilience.

The 2021 ePortfolio Showcase winners are:

  • Rokshana Ali, MS in Disability Services in Higher Education
  • Kristin Bestler, MS in Disability Services in Higher Education
  • Joselin Cruz, BS in Nursing
  • Lindsay B. Green, MS in Disability Services in Higher Education
  • Margaret Keane, MS in Disability Services in Higher Education
  • Joanna Levenson, MA in Disability Studies
  • Savannah Parham, MA in Disability Studies
  • Yashira Ramos, MA in Disability Studies
  • Nicole Virzi, BA in Liberal Studies
  • Stephanie Whitley, MS in Disability Services in Higher Education

This year’s ePortfolio judging panel featured, for the first time, faculty and staff from around CUNY SPS who have worked closely with students and offered a different perspective to this showcase. Judges included Karen Gonzalez, ePortfolio program assistant; Sharon Jorrin, media accessibility and technology assistant; José Muñiz, administrative specialist; Anthony Sweeney, associate director, student life; and Arianna Rodriguez, academic advisor.

Winning ePortfolio projects were selected based on their presentation, writing, and navigation, and effective selection of artifacts and work samples. All winners received a $100 cash prize, in addition to being featured on the ePortfolio website.

About the CUNY School of Professional Studies

For over 15 years, the CUNY School of Professional Studies (CUNY SPS) has been leading online education in New York. Notable for offering the most online bachelor’s and master’s degree options at the City University of New York, and for serving transfer students as the University system’s only undergraduate all-transfer college, CUNY SPS meets the needs of adults who wish to finish a bachelor’s degree, progress from an associate’s degree, earn a master’s degree or certificate in a specialized field, and advance in the workplace or change careers.

The School’s growth has been remarkable, with twenty-four degrees launched since 2006. Enrollment has risen by more than 30% in the last four years to over 4,000 students in the credit-bearing programs. Thousands more are enrolled in non-degree and grant-funded workplace learning programs. In addition, the School has an active alumni network and has established the CUNY SPS Foundation, which offers multiple scholarship opportunities to current students.

CUNY SPS has consistently been named by US News & World Report as one of the country’s top online institutions. This year, the School was ranked in the top 2% in the nation on the publisher’s list of the 2021 Best Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs.
