Counselors, educators, youth service providers, organizers, and others responsible for managing and helping others navigate these dangerous and unprecedented times are not exempt from the stress, concern, and related effects of these times. In fact, many in these positions experience vicarious trauma. Join us for an in-depth discussion on vicarious trauma. In conversation with psychotherapist, Iya Rev. DeShannon Bowens, we will explore individual and institutional approaches to addressing vicarious trauma.

Moderator: Lumumba Akinwole-Bandele, Organizer, Malcolm X Grassroots Movement, and Adjunct Lecturer, CUNY School of Professional Studies

Guest speaker: Iya Rev. DeShannon Bowens, Founder, ILERA Counseling & Education Services
