Valerie Paley

Dr. Valerie Paley is the Senior Vice President and Sue Ann Weinberg Director, Patricia D. Klingenstein Library of the New-York Historical Society as well as the founding director of its Center for Women’s History. Her PhD in History and MA in American Studies are from Columbia University, where she remains an adjunct lecturer. Dr. Paley is a seasoned museum administrator, public historian, and scholar of New York City and U.S. history with experience in curating landmark exhibitions and developing innovative museum interactive technology. Dr. Paley has been a key person in the development of the online MA in Museum Studies at CUNY SPS and serves as an adjunct associate professor in the program.
