Rosemarie Gagliardi is currently the Senior Associate Dean of Collaborative Research at the Icahn School of Medicine at the Mount Sinai Health System and a key member of the Dean's Leadership Cabinet, providing strategic, operational, and financial guidance to support clinical research and translational medicine. Professor Gagliardi leads and oversees the development of strategic clinical trial collaborations and partnerships with external organizations while fostering interdisciplinary research within the Health System.
Before returning to Mount Sinai, Professor Gagliardi was the Vice President of Research and the Research Integrity Officer at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) for 8 years supporting the Chief Scientific Officer with strategic growth of the Basic, Clinical, and Population Health Research Enterprise, while overseeing Research Support Services and Cores, and guided HSS's research community.
Prior to joining HSS, Professor Gagliardi was at Mount Sinai School of Medicine (MSSM) for 18 years as Associate Dean for Research Services, where she participated on the Joint Task Force on Clinical Trial Framework of Competency Domains; supported MSSM's Clinical and Translational Institute, which received NCAT grant in 2014; and assisted the Tisch Cancer Institute to obtain Cancer Center Designation from the NCI in 2015.
Professor Gagliardi is an ACRP-certified Clinical Research Associate and as Assistant Professor in Health Policy, Professor Gagliardi taught courses in the MSSM MD/PhD academic program.
At CUNY School of Professional Studies, Professor Gagliardi teaches RAC 602 - Introduction to Clinical Research Administration and Compliance, which focuses on complex legal, regulatory, and ethical issues surrounding clinical research. She received a Master of Public Health degree at CUNY Hunter College and proceeded with doctoral studies in Health Education at Columbia's Teachers College.
