This guide explains how students with approved accommodations make a "Semester Request" which is the process used to share information about approved accommodations with instructors, preferably at the start of each term.
Kindly follow the steps below and once your request is completed, it will be reviewed by an OSDS staff member who will then copy you on messages that are sent out to your instructors which outline your accommodations.
- Step 1: Log in to SPS Accommodate using your CUNYfirst username and password.
- Step 2: Select the Accommodation tab > Semester Request > current semester (from dropdown menu) > Add New

- Step 3: Select your current semester once again from the dropdown menu.

- Step 4: Choose one of these two options on the right of the screen - “Submit For All Accommodations” OR “Review The Renewal” (description below)

“Submit for All Accommodations" Button
Selecting this means that you want the disability services office to send information about ALL approved accommodations to ALL of your current instructors. This is the most commonly selected option.
“Review the Renewal” Button
Pressing this button will allow you to select which of your instructors you would like to be contacted and what accommodations you would like for them to be informed of. The reason you may decide to choose this option is, if for example, you do not want one or more of your instructors know about your “extra time on quizzes and exams” accommodation, because those instructor’s courses do not have any timed quizzes or exams.
Once your request is submitted, using either of these 2 options, you will be copied on messages to your instructors outlining accommodations, normally within two business days. If you make your request in advance of the first day of class, please note that letters will not be issued until after your class begins.
