Early Childhood Education Certificate Programs

The CUNY School of Professional Studies offers programs in early childhood education leading to recognized credentials in the field. Our programs are designed to help educators advance within their careers and become more effective leaders both in and outside of the classroom.

Children’s Program Administrator Credential (CPAC)

  • Offered online and in-person
  • Students earn one (1) graduate credit per course
  • Courses address the competencies of the CPAC of New York State and are offered by topic area
  • Courses take place over four (4) weeks; online courses are offered asynchronously with no set meeting dates/times

 

Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA)

  • The only comprehensive credit-bearing CDA program in New York City
  • Offered in-person at our mid-town Manhattan campus
  • Students earn three (3) undergraduate credits, per course
  • Courses articulate to several associate’s degree programs within CUNY, placing students on the path towards higher education
  • Students receive advisement on the CDA credentialing process, and typically earn the CDA Credential two to three months after graduating from the program
