The Clinical Preceptor is split into two 12-week program: Level I and Level II. Upon completion, fellows will earn free CEU credits.
Clinical Preceptor Level I certificate program is designed for nurses with limited or no preceptor experience (<250 hours) to equip them with the essential skills and knowledge to become effective preceptors.
Clinical Preceptor Level II certificate program is designed for nurses with some preceptor experience (>251 hours) to enrich their skills as a clinical preceptor.
- Clinical Preceptor Level 1
The Clinical Preceptor Level 1 certificate course supports the learner’s current or future role responsibilities as a new and emerging preceptor in the clinical setting.
- > 1 year experience as a RN
- Associate’s degree in nursing or higher
- No experience as a preceptor needed
- Clinical Preceptor Level 2
The Clinical Preceptor Level 2 certificate course supports the learner’s current or future role responsibilities as a preceptor in the clinical setting.

- Associate’s degree in nurses or higher
- > 250 hours precepting experience
