The CUNY SPS community is invited to join the Black Student Union (BSU) for a discussion on Critical Race Theory, featuring guest speakers Dr. H. Sharif Williams, Associate Adjunct Professor, Applied Theatre, CUNY SPS, and Dr. T. DeWayne Cash, Curriculum Specialist, World Languages, Frederick County Public Schools.

Many of us are aware of the term, Critical Race Theory, but how we came upon it differs: what we understand is often not the same. This discussion will highlight why Critical Race Theory is important to the Black community, detailing the academic framework, and debunking misconceptions that change the discussion around race and justice.  Those attending the event will leave with a better understanding of Critical Race Theory and its importance in our society.
