Sinking Funds Budgeting: A tool to help you reach your savings goals

With the spring semester less than 100 days away and holidays right around the corner, setting aside a separate fund for upcoming expenses could be what you need to reach your financial goals this year! As part of the Financial Empowerment and Learning Opportunities (FELO) Committee, CUNY SPS presents: Sinking Funds Budgeting: A tool to help you reach your savings goals. Using some of the tips reviewed in our Building a Budget webinar, we will demonstrate how you can successfully save money, even on a tight budget. In this webinar, you will have the opportunity to learn about:

• Key budgeting terms
• Budgeting tools and resources
• How to successfully budget for upcoming events and expenses, such as the holidays and upcoming semester

During the webinar, we will also break out into small groups to discuss different budgeting scenarios, and utilize a Sinking Fund worksheet, which can be used to plan for expenses in your everyday life. This webinar will close with a Q&A session.
