The Committee on Institutional Equity and Diversity (CIED), the CUNY SPS LGBTQIA+ Consortium, the CUNY SPS Pride Club, and the Nursing Mentoring Program are pleased to present a two-part SAFE ZONE training:
PART 1: December 4, 2024; 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Register
PART 2: December 9, 2024; 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Register
The 2+2 Safe Zone training is a highly interactive and in-depth workshop dedicated to enhancing one’s knowledge of the LGBTQIA+ community while learning the foundations of active allyship through an intersectional lens. Participants will be provided with a better understanding of LGBTQIA+ identities, how to embody the principles of being a Safe Zone in their everyday lives, first-hand knowledge of LGBTQIA+ experiences, clear and ready-to-utilize tools to provide a safe and affirmative space for marginalized communities, and a space to ask questions.
Participants who complete both trainings will be SAFE ZONE Certified and awarded a Safe Zone Initiative badge. They will also receive a comprehensive manual full of resources and activities.
This event is made possible due to generous funding from the New York City Council Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual Caucus and the Office of the Mayor, and supported by The LaGuardia and Wagner Archives.
We look forward to your participation.
