To expand their cost-saving work for CUNY SPS students, several faculty members received grants to redesign their courses and replace proprietary textbooks with customized open educational resources.

In additional top-ten rankings, CUNY SPS is also named #4 in the nation on the publisher's list of Best Online Bachelor's for Veterans, and its BA in Psychology is ranked #7 in the nation on their Best Online Bachelor's in Psychology list.

Both Dr. Plavskin, the head of the School's Nursing programs, and Dr. Nathan, who leads the General Education and Liberal Studies program, bring a wide range of expertise to their new leadership roles at CUNY SPS.

CUNY SPS celebrated over 200 Nursing graduates at its 2025 Convocation and Pinning Ceremony. The event, which included a traditional pinning ceremony, paid tribute to academic excellence, leadership, and holistic caregiving.
