We’ve all heard it before…it’s not just what you know, but who you know.

When it comes to building a successful career as a film publicist, Rachel Allen parlayed early career internships into jobs at major New York institutions including the Film Forum and the Film Society of Lincoln. Since graduating in 2012, she’s done everything from organizing screenings and red carpet events to coordinating promotional campaigns and drafting press releases. Now working as a publicist for Cinetic Marketing & PR, Rachel sits down with Dr. Elizabeth Alsop for a web interview to talk about the role of networking and connections in creating career opportunities, what she likes best about her work, and some of the most memorable film campaigns she’s worked on.

This webinar is brought to you by the online BA in Communication and Media program at the CUNY School of Professional Studies.
