Funding Resources

The PSC-CUNY Research Award Program supports faculty research across the City University of New York. The program is administered by the Research Foundation of CUNY and typically opens for applications each fall.

Current Status
The program is currently in Cycle 57. The next application cycle typically opens in September, with proposals due in December.

How to Apply
To ensure a successful submission, please follow these steps:

1. Review the Guidelines: Read the Official PSC-CUNY Program Guidelines and Award Timeline to confirm eligibility.
2. Prepare Your Proposal: Consult the PowerPoint Program Overview for formatting and requirements.
3. Submit via GPS: All internal CUNY grant applications must be submitted through the Grants Proposal System (GPS) Portal. Note: Use your CUNY Login credentials to access the GPS portal.

Identifying appropriate funding opportunities is an important step in building a successful research and project portfolio. At CUNY SPS, funding opportunities often come from private foundations, nonprofit organizations, and contracts with New York City and other public agencies, in addition to selected federal sources.

The resources below highlight tools and information to help faculty and staff identify relevant funding opportunities.

Pivot-RP provides tools to identify funding opportunities and research collaborations. To get started, visit Pivot-RP and click Create Account. You can register using your CUNY email address and create your own password.

GrantForward allows users to search, save, and share funding opportunities and set up alerts. CUNY SPS faculty and staff can access all features through the institutional subscription at no cost. Visit grantforward.com and click Sign Up to create an account.

A curated and continuously updated list of funding opportunities is also available through the RFCUNY Curated Grant Opportunities portal (Curated Grant Search), powered by GrantForward.
