Coronavirus update March 15 - staff
As the University and City enter into a new phase of effort to mitigate the Coronavirus, I am writing to let you know that only Essential Staff are expected to report to work at our campus locations in Manhattan at this time. These Essential Staff at CUNY SPS are:
- Associate Dean of Administration & Finance – Washington Hernandez
- Public Safety personnel – Brian Smith
- Information Technology Leads – Bronwen Stine, Ericke Wong, Serge Cherestal
- Campus Operations Director – Celeste Clarke
- Administrative Superintendent – Nigel Thomas
All other members of our faculty and staff are to continue or begin to work remotely. This directive includes embedded project employees through the Office of Professional Education and Workplace Learning. Please be in continual and close contact with your supervisors regarding your scopes of work. If you have any technological needs or questions, please notify your supervisor, who will work with our Office of Information Technology to assist you.
As always, be sure to periodically check the CUNY coronavirus website which will be updated as new information becomes available, as well as our own coronavirus updates page which will contain information specific to our School, as well as updated supports and resources as they become available.
Remember that students who feel that they may need some counseling assistance can contact CUNY SPS Counseling Services at firstname.lastname@example.org. Likewise, resources for tax-levy faculty and staff are available through the Employee Assistance Program, Deer Oaks, at the Deer Oaks website using “cuny” (all lowercase) as your username and password. Research Foundation staff can contact a similar program, Health Advocate, at 866-799-2728 or via this website: https://members.healthadvocate.com/Account/OrganizationSearch.
We will continue to keep you informed as we navigate this extreme situation, and I hope that you are all staying well. You may have also received a CUNYAlert message. The language of that CUNYAlert appears below.
Only CUNY essential personnel should report to work tomorrow, Monday, March 16, to their campuses and CUNY Central. Essential staff have already been designated; however, if staff have any questions, please contact your supervisor.
We deeply appreciate our students’ and employees’ professionalism and commitment to CUNY and its mission. We will continue to share as much information as we can, as soon as we can, to keep you updated and apprised of any developments.
