The Committee on Institutional Equity and Diversity (CIED) invites you to join an interactive mental health workshop focused on addressing anxiety and burnout within the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.

About the Workshop
Led by Dr. Sadia R. Chaudhury, this session explores the growing mental health needs within AAPI communities. It will address why individuals are often less likely to seek support due to stigma, language barriers, and limited awareness of available resources.

Using a culturally informed approach, the workshop examines how achievement pressure, family expectations, immigration experiences, and identity influence mental health. Participants will take part in a structured, skills-based session that includes cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness practices, and nervous system regulation strategies that can be used in everyday life.

The session creates a welcoming and affirming space that honors cultural strengths while encouraging open dialogue, reflection, and personal growth.

Participants Will Gain:

  • A deeper understanding of anxiety, chronic stress, and burnout
  • Practical, culturally attuned coping strategies
  • Information about free and confidential mental health resources

This event is open to students, faculty, and staff.
