Join us for an enlightening conversation hosted by the CUNY SPS Pride Club, featuring Mia Ives-Rublee, Director for the Disability Justice Initiative at American Progress.
Mia Ives-Rublee is a disabled transracial adoptee who has dedicated her life’s work to civil rights activism. As a public speaker, Mia advocates on the national stage for the rights of disabled people, immigrants, and other marginalized communities.
This event will be moderated by Jan Oosting, CUNY SPS Assistant Professor, Nursing and Faculty Advisor for the Pride Club. Topics will include intersectionality in activism, empowerment through advocacy, and building inclusive communities. Participants will have time for questions after the Ives-Rublee's presentation.
LGBTQIA+ programming here at CUNY SPS is made possible due to generous funding from the New York City Council Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual Caucus and the Office of the Mayor, and supported by The LaGuardia and Wagner Archives.
