In recognition of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AAPIHM), join us for an engaging, interactive session titled Objects as Witnesses to Filipino American Resilience, led by John Celbert M. Sapida.

Everyday objects—photographs, newspapers, letters, books, and works of art—serve as powerful keepers of culture, memory, and history. This session explores how objects from local museums and community archives deepen our understanding of Filipino American experiences from the early twentieth century to today.

Through inquiry-driven dialogue and guided activities, participants will examine how artists and communities have reclaimed and reinterpreted Filipino American history. The session also introduces practical teaching and facilitation strategies used by museum educators to foster meaningful engagement and learning.

Session Highlights:
• Explore Filipino American history through objects and archives;
• Engage in inquiry-based discussion and reflection;
• Learn practical teaching and facilitation strategies from museum education.

This event is open to all students, faculty, and staff.
