CUNY SPS Nursing Programs Amass Multiple Honors for Their Excellence and Value

CUNY SPS Nursing Program's Awards

The Nursing programs at the CUNY School of Professional Studies (CUNY SPS) have been garnering numerous honorifics for their innovative and affordable online nursing offerings.

Most recently, in February, RNtoMSN.org named CUNY SPS’ BS in Nursing as the second most affordable online program in New York State.

Dr. Marge Reilly, academic director of the Nursing programs at CUNY SPS, was delighted with the latest accolade. “We are thrilled that the CUNY School of Professional Studies’ RN-BS in Nursing program has earned this recognition,” Dr. Reilly said. “So many of our nursing students are working full-time while balancing family responsibilities and school. Our RN-BS program is a great value—combining affordability, flexibility, and outstanding education for the future of the nursing workforce.”

Earlier this year, Intelligent.com awarded the online Bachelor of Science in Nursing at CUNY SPS a #2 ranking, with a score of 99.37 out of 100. The score was calculated by combining scores in four key areas: academic quality, graduation rate, affordability and return on investment, and student resources.

NursingSchoolHub.com gave several high rankings to CUNY SPS online Nursing programs as well. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree received a #3 ranking and also was recognized for its affordability with a #15 ranking. The School’s MSN in Nursing Informatics also received a #13 ranking from the website for its academic excellence.

Diana Huong, who earned her master’s degrees in January from the CUNY SPS Nursing Informatics program, shared how special the program was for her. “My experience as a graduate student in the MS in Nursing Informatics program at CUNY SPS has been incredibly eye-opening and rewarding,” she said.

Huong also reflected upon the curriculum’s strengths. “Throughout the program, I've had the chance to learn topics like healthcare data management, project management, and electronic health records,” she explained. “Through projects, assignments, and real-world experiences, I have learned about recent evidence-based practices and gained practical skills that I know will be invaluable in my current and future career.”

As Huong notes, the CUNY SPS MS in Nursing Informatics has provided her with the tools she needs to achieve her professional aspirations. “This journey has equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make an impact in nursing informatics,” she continued. “I'm excited to use what I've learned to improve patient care and contribute to the ever-evolving field of nursing informatics.”
