Hillary is currently employed as a program administrator in education and workforce development. She received her AAS degree in secretarial science (legal).

Why did you decide to join the BPS program?

I decided to join the BPS to make the most of my AAS degree credits. This new program allows people like me to transfer more credits toward a bachelor’s degree.

Why did you choose to continue your education online at CUNY SPS?

I chose to continue my education online at CUNY SPS because of the new BPS program and because of CUNY’s affordability. Paying out of pocket, every dollar counts.

What was your motivation for returning to school for your BPS?

My motivation for returning to school for my bachelor’s degree is threefold: it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, it will help me gain a permanent position at work, and being recently diagnosed with a serious medical condition, there’s no time like the present!

Which skills have you acquired during your time at CUNY SPS that you believe will help you excel in your field?

Time management is a skill I am acquiring at CUNY SPS that will help me excel in my field. Using techniques discussed in orientation and the classroom for use in my studies is transferable in my field of program management.

What kind of impact do you think your degree will have on your career/life?

My degree will impact my career in that it will increase my employability as well as confidence in my abilities. My degree's biggest impact on my life is showing my children the importance of furthering their education and that if I can do it, so can they.
