Academic dishonesty is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Cheating, forgery, plagiarism and collusion in dishonest acts undermine the educational mission of the City University of New York and the students' personal and intellectual growth. SPS students are expected to bear individual responsibility for their work, to learn the rules and definitions that underlie the practice of academic integrity, and to uphold its ideals.  Ignorance of the rules is not an acceptable excuse for disobeying them.  Any student who attempts to compromise or devalue the academic process will be sanctioned. Engaging in acts of academic dishonesty can end a student's school career, have an impact on the person's professional life and jeopardize future career goals.  The School of Professional Studies is committed to maintaining an atmosphere of academic integrity.  All alleged cases of academic dishonesty are subject to due process.
