Tara Pauliny earned her PhD in rhetoric and composition/English from the Ohio State University in 2002. She has served as a faculty member and writing program administrator at a number of academic institutions and is currently a tenured associate professor in English at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she teaches courses in writing, rhetoric, and gender studies. Tara has published work on rhetorics of the body, the politics of writing program administration, and queer rhetorics. In 2016 she published Neoliberal Rhetorics and Body Politics: Plastinate Exhibits as Infiltration with Lexington Books/Rowman and Littlefield. Her scholarship has also appeared in PresentTense, The Writing Instructor, Research for Drama in Education, Enculturation, and the Journal of Homosexuality. Prior to her appointment as interim academic director for liberal studies, Tara taught and developed writing courses for CUNY SPS and served as a consortial faculty member.
