Rachel Levine is the Associate Dean for Administration and Finance, overseeing the Office of Budget and Finance, the Office of Campus Operations, the Office of Faculty and Staff Resources, the Office of Information Technology, and the Office of Public Safety and Security. Rachel comes to us from the New York City Human Resources Administration, where she had served as the Executive Deputy Commissioner of the Office of Staff Resources since 2009. In this position, she oversaw all personnel operations for 14,000 employees, and worked on strategic planning, change management, and organizational development.
She has also served the New York City Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget as unit head for the Human Resources Administration and Department of Homeless Services, overseeing operating budgets, establishing financial and spending plans, conducting operational analyses, administering capital projects, and evaluating new initiatives. Her career also includes service as a senior policy and budget analyst for the budget and policy unit in the Office of the Bronx Borough President, as well as six years with the New York City Department of Homeless Services, ending her tenure there as the director of family budget.
Rachel holds a BA in urban affairs from Barnard College, and an MPA from Columbia University.
