Julie Stein Brockway

Center for Family Life Co-Director Julie Stein Brockway, LCSW, oversees youth development and community building programs at nine local public schools and directs the Sunset Park High School Partnership. She has 34 years of experience at CFL, where she founded the nationally-recognized “Life Lines” Community Arts Project in 1982. She chairs the Sunset Park High School Task Force, which has engaged a large and diverse group of community stakeholders since 2005 to ensure that the neighborhood’s long-awaited public high school responds to community needs. She received her BA from Yale University and MSW from Hunter College School of Social Work. She conducts training in social group work, has been a Group Work instructor at Hunter School of Social Work, and is currently teaching Group Work with Youth in the youth studies program at the CUNY School of Professional Studies.
