Brian A. Peterson, Associate Dean for Student and Community Affairs, holds a BS in speech communication with a minor in business from St. Cloud State University, and an MPA from Baruch College.

Before his appointment as Associate Dean, he served as the executive programs director in the CUNY Office of Academic Affairs, where he initiated and administered workforce development and continuing education initiatives such as the CUNY Professional Training Academy (with the NYC Human Resources Administration), the Informal Family Childcare Training Project, the CUNY 3-1-1 Program, and the Department of Transportation Staten Island Ferry Project. Taken together, Brian’s portfolio generated over $30 million in external grants and contracts, and served more than 7,000 working adults. 

Before arriving at the University, Brian was the executive director of adult programs at Jobs for Youth, Inc., a non-profit organization serving at-risk families and out-of-school youth.  He enjoys photography and travel, and is an avid reader.
