Senior University Dean of Academic Affairs,  Dean of the CUNY School of Professional Studies

John Mogulescu, founding Dean of the CUNY School of Professional Studies, has overseen SPS from its inception in 2003. Under his leadership, SPS has become one of the University’s fastest growing institutions, currently enrolling over 2,000 students in its degree programs and credit bearing courses, and thousands more in its non-credit courses and programs. SPS is home to CUNY’s first fully-online degrees. In addition to his role at SPS, Dean Mogulescu also serves as the senior university dean for academic affairs at CUNY. Prior to assuming his present position, Dean Mogulescu was the university dean for academic affairs and deputy to the executive vice chancellor for academic affairs, and he also has served as university dean for adult and continuing education and director of adult learning for CUNY. He earned a B.A. in psychology from Brown University, an M.S.W. from New York University, and attended the Institute for the Management of Lifelong Education at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
