The CUNY portal is a gateway to all things CUNY: college websites, information about applying to CUNY, registering for classes, events, campus directories, etc. The CUNY portal makes it easier and faster to find what you need. And if you register on the portal, the ability to customize your view will make future visits to the portal more productive.

Create a Student CUNY Portal Username and Password

1. Go to http://www.cuny.edu then select the Portal Log-in button on the upper-right hand side of the page. You can also access the Portal Log-in on the upper-left hand side of the page under QUICKLINKS.
2. In the box "Portal Log In" >> select 'create a new account'.
3. Select Student
4. Complete the User Validation and select Next.
5. You will be asked to Confirm the information.
6. If you receive a "you have already registered" error message, this means that a CUNY Portal username already exists for you. Please contact the SPS Help Desk at helpdesk@sps.cuny.edu with your name, your date of birth and the last CUNY College attended. With the information that you provide us, we will be able to determine what your CUNY Portal username is.
7. If there is not an account on file, you will be directed to the CUNY Portal Registration Page. Please complete the application, then select Save.
8. You have now created your username and password. Please write down and safeguard your CUNY Portal Username and Password.
