Labor Center: Strengthening Worker Organizations and Communities
Murphy's Labor Center brings together union activists, academics, and community leaders to focus on issues and policies that impact workers and their communities. Many of the Center's initiatives are designed to encourage rank-and-file workers to play more active and informed roles in unions, workplaces, and neighborhoods. The Center conducts research and publishes articles, books, and the journal, New Labor Forum. It holds monthly forums, organizations national conferences, develops educational programs and materials, offers leadership development programs, convenes labor and community coalitions to develop public policy, and provides a number of venues for dialogue and debate on issues of particular concern to workers and working-class communities.
