Subject: Applied Theatre
The goal of the M.A. in Applied Theatre is to produce future leaders and scholars in the field of applied theatre. The degree requires 36 credits of study and is an ensemble-based program offering theoretical and practical instruction in the key elements of theatre and interactive drama strategies the can be "applied" in a wide variety of settings to achieve defined educational and social outcomes.

Students will be introduced to the history of the theatre movements and practices from which the field of applied theatre has developed. Course work will explore key theories in theatre production, performance studies, human development, learning theory, group dynamics, ethics, cultural studies, and multiculturalism all of which help to define and support Applied Theatre practices.
