SPS offers a 25-hour course focused on the most practical and applied aspects of project management. This course is especially targeted to individuals who manage projects within large organizations. Currently, the course is offered to employees throughout the nineteen campuses and central administration of CUNY who have responsibility for managing projects and want to better understand and utilize project management approaches and techniques.
Participants will review practices recognized by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and learn how to apply them to address a variety of project challenges. Instructors in the program have extensive teaching experience, experience with managing large projects, and are certified by PMI as Project Management Professionals (PMPs).
Instructors: Beth Ouellette and Barbara Edington
Beth Ouellette has extensive experience in the financial services industry, having served as a vice president and consultant with major investment firms in New York City. She is an experienced teacher and executive coach, and holds an M.B.A. from the Stern School of Business at New York University. Barbara Edington is an Assistant Professor of Information Technology at St. Francis College and has managed large projects in the financial services industry. She received her D.P.S. in Computer Science and Information Science from Pace University.
