United Federation of Teachers (UFT): Leap-to-Teacher

The LEAP-to-Teacher Program is offered in collaboration with the UFT and the New York City Board of Education.  This program is for paraprofessionals working in New York City public schools who wish to earn teacher certification or to take career-advancement courses. The program offers  an array of academic support services, including free college-preparation courses, tutoring, academic counseling, test preparation for teacher certification and other licensing requirements. Programs are offered at Queens College, Flushing, Brooklyn College, Lehman College, and the College of Staten Island.

Tuition Benefits

The union covers up to 6 credits per semester on a tuition-free basis.
