Certificate programs allow individuals to master a body of knowledge and to gain skills that support their career advancement. SPS certificate programs are distinguished from many others by the fact that students who fulfill the program requirements not only receive a certificate, but also earn graduate or undergraduate credit that may be transferred into a number of degree programs at CUNY. Each SPS certificate program is registered with the New York State Education Department. Many courses in SPS certificate programs may also be taken on a non-credit basis. Certificate courses are taught at an undergraduate level of study while advanced certificate courses are taught at the graduate level. Advanced certificate candidates must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree.
