Graduate Degree Admissions

Follow the instructions below to submit an application to one of our master's degree programs.

Admission Criteria

Applicants for master's degree programs must have earned a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with a GPA of 3.0 or better to qualify for admission.

Applicants are required to submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Applicants are also required to write a personal statement, upload a resume and provide two letters of recommendation. Applicants who meet the basic eligibility criteria may be asked to take part in an individual interview before final acceptance is determined. In some cases a phone conversation may take place in lieu of an in-person interview. Please take time to review the CUNY School of Professional Studies' admission policies.

This site includes instructions for creating a user account and completing the application. In addition, detailed instructions can be found in the ApplyYourself Applicant Guide accessible here or by clicking on the link in the left navigation pane. The application fee is $125. Payment is made via the online application system using your credit or debit card. Veterans of the United States Military, active duty service members, and members of the National Guard or Reserves are eligible for an application fee waiver.

International Students

Before applying; an international applicant who wishes to study under an F-1 visa should contact the international student advisor Tom Jennings, Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management and Student Services, who serves as the international student advisor, at 646.664.8501 or

Applicants who will apply for nonimmigrant F-1 or J-1 visas for entry into the United States and applicants already in the United States in F-1 or J-1 student status must complete the International Student Application.

International applicants must have a TOEFL minimum score of 577 on the paper based test, minimum score of 233 on the computer based test (CBT), or a minimum of 90 on the internet based test (IBT). Applicants who have completed their previous education in another country must submit official transcripts and evaluations of their studies, accompanied by certified translations if they are not in English.

Auditing Courses

Students who do not wish to take a course for credit may audit the course by selecting the audit option. Fees remain the same as credit courses, however, students who audit will not be evaluated or receive a transcript.
